Steve Maxwell, Kodiak Venture PartnersSteve Maxwell brings more than 20 years of experience in high technology to Kodiak Venture Partners, both as an executive search consultant and as a member of the management teams of several successful technology companies. As the Recruiting Partner, Steve is focused on helping Kodiak portfolio companies build world class management teams. Steve sits on the boards of Kodiak companies Groove Mobile, and Mindreef. Prior to joining Kodiak, Steve was President of The Onstott Group, a retained executive search firm and he spent five years in the Boston office of Russell Reynolds Associates. Before entering the executive search field, Steve ran global sales and business development at Lightbridge, and Steve was also Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Spectrum Interactive, a leading developer of interactive multimedia business applications. Frank GrossmanMindreef’s president and chief technical officer, brings more than 20 years of intense technical expertise in the development of software tools. Grossman’s abilities to identify commercial pain points in the software development process and to creatively develop and deliver specific tools and solutions has enabled him to partner with Moskun as co-founder of successful start up opportunities, including NuMega Technologies, which was sold to Compuware Corporation. After NuMega, Grossman teamed with Moskun to develop Technology Garden, a “serial” software incubator in Hollis, NH. Mindreef is Technology Garden’s second incubation effort, and has become one of the leaders in the Web Services diagnostics arena. Jim MoskunJim Moskun is Mindreef’s chief strategy officer and serves as the company’s primary strategist and visionary. Moskun helped found Mindreef on the belief that the evolving migration to highly distributed applications and SOA will require a new kind of diagnostics. Moskun previously was co-founder of NuMega Technologies, Inc., the developer of the award winning Soft-Ice and BoundsChecker products and leaders in the Windows error detection and debugging market. NuMega was successfully sold to Compuware Corporation in December, 1997. Prior to co-founding NuMega, Jim worked at Wang Laboratories in the PC group, where he worked with Frank Grossman, co-founder of NuMega and Mindreef. Moskun brings 20 years of start up experience to Mindreef, and has proven skills in successfully managing and growing small organizations under intense development and market pressures. Moskun holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Case Western University, graduating in 1987. AdvisorsBob ZurekWeb services/SOA industry veteran Bob Zurek served as vice president of product management and advanced technologies at Ascential Software, prior to the acquisition of Ascential by IBM. His previous experience includes serving as senior technology research analyst with Forrester Research, co-founder of LumaPath, vice president and CTO of Incentive Systems, vice president of research and technology and Fellow at Sybase and Powersoft, and founder and vice president of Infinity Systems, which was acquired by Powersoft. Doug MookDoug Mook is the President of the Aptec Group. He previously held positions as the COO and VP of Engineering at TechOnLine, and ran the ASW Division, Advanced Systems, Advanced Technology and Signal Processing organizations within Lockheed Martin. In these roles he has taken technology from concept to product in the areas of communications, software services, sensor systems, machine recognition, medical processing, speech and test systems. Dr. Mook was a cofounder of VenturCom, Inc., an embedded software company, and Physiologic Diagnostic Services, Inc., a medical instrumentation company that was sold to Tokos, now Matra after receiving FDA approval for a key diagnostic product. Dr. Mook received his SB, SM, and EE degrees from MIT in Electrical Engineering and his Doctorate from MIT and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Electrical Engineering and Ocean Engineering. |
