The uptake in service-oriented architecture has driven demand for testing tools that provide comprehensive interoperability, functional, performance and vulnerability test functions. Testing a SOA application presents challenges that stem from the integration of services and the dynamic nature of SOA applications. Companies including Compuware, iTKO, Mindreef, Parasoft and Solstice Software released new SOA testing tools in 2007.
