XMethods users can use Mindreef SOAPscope functionality on-line to invoke Web services without programming, as well as view and analyze XMethods-registered WSDLs.

Hollis, NH and San Jose, CA – Sept 18, 2003 – Mindreef, Inc. (http://www.mindreef.com), the leading provider of Web services diagnostics and XMethods (http://www.xmethods.net), the most popular place on the web for discovering new and interesting Web services, today announce Scope-it™ on XMethods. Scope-it allows XMethods users to easily investigate any of the hundreds of Web services available on XMethods with an on-line service based on Mindreef’s market leading SOAPscope diagnostic system.

“We created XMethods as a ‘virtual laboratory’ where users can learn and experiment with Web services technology,” said Tony Hong, co-founder of XMethods. “SOAPscope is a great tool for looking under the hood of Web services, and it really extends our vision to have some of this technology on-line and linked to XMethods.”

Visitors at XMethods typically write programs to try out a Web service that they find interesting. XMethods services represent a broad range of vendors through services built with technology from companies including IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, BEA, Systinet, Borland and The Mind Electric. With Scope-it, users simply fill out a form generated from the service's WSDL (Web Services Description Language) document to invoke the service. Users also gain insight into how the service was designed and constructed by using the on-line version of SOAPscope’s viewers and analysis.

“XMethods is the first place to go to find publicly available Web services” said Mark Ericson, Chief Technology Officer at Mindreef, Inc. “We are excited at the prospect of enhancing the XMethods experience through the integration of SOAPscope functionality. The Scope-it functionality adds immediate value to anybody registering a WSDL with XMethods.”

Availability

Users can experience Scope-it functionality now at XMethods by clicking on the ‘Try It’ link for any WSDL. This link will bring the user to mindreef.net where they can invoke the service, view its WSDL or analyze its WSDL. There is no charge for this service.
