Industry’s First Always-on SOA Quality Platform Enhanced with New Enterprise Features

Gartner Application Integration and Web Services Summit – San Diego – June 19, 2006 – Mindreef®, Inc. today announced the availability of Mindreef SOAPscope ServerTM version 5.2, the industry’s only solution for testing and verifying the quality of service-oriented architectures (SOAs). With SOAPscope Server 5.2, Mindreef provides comprehensive enterprise management capabilities, enabling organizations of any size to easily incorporate Mindreef products into their existing IT environments and SOA implementations.

Development teams at Wachovia, Fidelity National Financial, Charles Schwab, and more than 1,200 organizations worldwide use Mindreef SOAPscope and SOAPscope Server to successfully build, test, and maintain high-quality Web services and SOAs. Mindreef also announced that, with version 5.2, it has officially changed the product name to Mindreef SOAPscope Server from Mindreef Coral.

A Foundational Approach to SOA Quality

A key requirement for an SOA is that the components that underlie it be available at all times. Mindreef’s SOAPscope Server is an SOA quality platform that was built to meet this challenge. It is server-based with hosted tools that provide always-on access to any SOA team member. Powerful New Features for Enterprise Deployments

Mindreef SOAPscope Server 5.2 is designed to work seamlessly with a wide variety of operating systems and databases. New features include:

  • Expanded OS Support – In addition to existing support for Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Server 2003, Mindreef expands support to Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4 for x86.

  • Broader Database Implementations – Mindreef extends robust client-server database support for scalable deployments of SOAPscope Server. The list of supported databases includes MSDE, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle. Databases can also be archived, allowing SOAPscope Server data to be transferred among different database platforms.

  • Extended Browser Use – In addition to support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, SOAPscope Server 5.2 adds support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (beta), as well as Firefox 1.5.

  • LDAP Support – Server administrators can use an LDAP directory to authenticate SOAPscope Server users, easing the burden of creating separate usernames and passwords.


Other new features in SOAPscope Server 5.2 include the ability to specifically reserve licenses for a community port or for processes utilizing an API. The new version also features support for very large messages, and the ability to upload and download multiple Mindreef Shared WorkspacesTM.

Pricing and Availability

Mindreef SOAPscope 5.2 is available in several configurations, starting with five concurrent licenses per server (Team Edition) for $3,995 per year. Additional configurations for 10, 20 and unlimited licenses per server are also available. Perpetual licensing for SOAPscope Server is also available in the same configurations described above, and requires an annual maintenance plan that includes product updates and support.
