Mindreef Teams With CA To Advance Web Services Management PDF Print E-mail

Hollis, NH — December 8, 2003 — Mindreef, Inc. today announced it is working with Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) to support its Unicenter Web Services Distributed Management (WSDM) solution. A leading Web services diagnostics provider, Mindreef will integrate its SOAPscope™ software with Unicenter WSDM, enabling developers, testers and application support technicians to "drill down" to any desired level of granularity during problem resolution in both pre-deployment and post-deployment stages of the new service-oriented lifecycle.

Mindreef SOAPscope is the industry’s first Web Services Diagnostics System. This emerging category of products addresses the challenges of isolating and solving problems of applications built with Web services throughout the development, testing and management process. With over 3,000 copies now in use, SOAPscope is gaining broad adoption as an easy-to-use, platform-independent tool.

"Bugs and interoperability issues in Web services can quickly spread throughout a system, making the source extremely difficult to identify. Now, the tool developers use to find and fix problems during development is available to fix product problems -- reducing resolution time and minimizing service interruptions," said Mark Ericson, CTO of Mindreef. "By receiving SOAP faults detected from Unicenter WSDM, SOAPscope drills down to root causes with a comprehensive suite of tools that add value to all stages of the service oriented lifecycle."

Unicenter WSDM enables IT organizations to closely track a full range of performance indicators and rapidly respond to service interruptions. While other vendors offer point products that address isolated elements of Web services management, CA is uniquely able to address the full spectrum of Web services systems management, including integrated management of the underlying infrastructure.

"Mindreef’s sophisticated SOAPscope solution was the natural choice as the 'drill down' solution for Unicenter WSDM," said Dmitri Tcherevik, vice president of Web services at CA. "Our collaboration with Mindreef further extends CA’s leadership position in the Web services management space — allowing customers to discover and remedy performance and integrity issues throughout the entire services lifecycle."
