Hollis, NH - December 03, 2004 - Mindreef, Inc., a leader in Web services diagnostics solutions, today announced that Web services and XML schema expert Tim Ewald has joined the company. Mr. Ewald will focus on helping customers understand the requirements and processes for delivering reliable, scalable Web services and service-oriented architectures (SOAs).

A highly-regarded author, speaker, and educator, Mr. Ewald brings a wide range of research, design, and development expertise to his role at Mindreef. His most recent experience was at Microsoft, where he was co-creator of the MSDN XML Web Services Developer Center. Mr. Ewald was also the primary architect of MSDN2, an XML-based publishing infrastructure in use at Microsoft.com.

Mr. Ewald has also been active on Web services standards-based initiatives. Most notably, he helped shape technical requirements for the Web Services-Interoperability (WS-I) basic profile as part of the original WS-I basic profile working group. In addition, Mr. Ewald has written two books related to distributed computing—Transactional COM+: Building Scalable Applications and Effective COM: 50 Ways to Improve Your COM and MTS-based Applications—as well as articles for several leading trade publications and Web sites including MSDN magazine and XML.com.

“We feel fortunate to have someone with Tim’s talent and experience on the Mindreef team,” noted Mindreef founder Frank Grossman. “He understands the problems involved in successfully building and deploying Web services. His insights and experience will be very helpful to our customers, many of whom are on the cutting edge of Web services and SOA.”

“I’m very happy to be at Mindreef,” said Mr. Ewald. “My experience has taught me that, though Web services and SOA offer tremendous promise, they also introduce increased complexity and the potential for serious communication issues. Mindreef saw this problem coming and is building a diagnostic foundation that will help Web services teams communicate openly throughout the entire development, deployment, and maintenance lifecycle.”

At Mindreef, Mr. Ewald shares his expertise with a team of dedicated experts and thought leaders who are focused on building a diagnostic infrastructure to fulfill the promise offered by Web services and SOA.
