Teams

SOA changes the rules for the application lifecycle from design, through development, testing, deployment and beyond. If your team is responsible for delivering SOAs and services, then you know you face new and different challenges. By their nature, SOAs require architects, developers, testers, managers and support staff to understand new things, such as how to:
  • Ensure interoperability for services developed and used in different environments, and consumed by multiple applications

  • Effectively deliver higher quality software, because you can’t afford a service failure affecting multiple businesses or business units

  • Find and fix performance issues before they are baked-in and costly to address

SOAPscope Server 6.1

Mindreef SOAPscope Server is the industry's leading solution for testing and verifying the quality, performance and policy compliance of service-oriented architectures. It is server-based with hosted tools to provide always-on access so that SOA team members can perform quality-related tasks or access quality-related artifacts at any time.

SOAPscope Server helps SOA project teams – from design through support – collaborate effectively and support the business need for agility while quickly and easily delivering well-tested, scalable, and policy compliant services and SOAs. Every member of your project team can deliver quality SOAs and services in an agile development lifecycle, by delivering better software at each phase with:

  • Enforceable SOA governance and compliance that starts with the architectural team and continues through development and testing

  • Testing capabilities that let you start building quality and performance with unit tests as early as during the development phase and continue to drive it with functional, acceptance, regression, and performance tests by the testing team

  • Support capabilities that allow your tech support and test teams to speed diagnosis and resolution by bundling and sharing completely reproducible test scenarios and problems with development

  • Industry-leading collaboration across the entire SOA project team, that's always on and accessible from a browser. SOAPscope Server enables consistent collaboration between different teams independent of platform and programming language
SOAPscope Server users collaborate by creating, and sharing workspaces that contain Web services, contracts, messages, recorded actions, simulated operations, and descriptive notes. They can be used to create shared test suites for unit, functional, regression and acceptance testing, with the additions of Load Check, an add-on to SOAPscope Server, workspaces can be added to the load test to simulate workloads for the virtual users of web services. Workspaces can be shared with all members of the services development team. They are reusable assets that help team members leverage each others work.

Among the many powerful features included in SOAPscope Server 6.1 are:

  • New! Support for WS-Security - Test Web services that use WS-Security by invoking and resending protected SOAP messages and running Scenario Tests using UsernameTokenProfile, X.509 Token Profile, signing, and encrypting. Create security profiles for different WS-Security configurations and switch between security profiles during testing. In SOAPscope Server 6.1, security profiles can be created for each Service Space™, a container that allows teams to organize, collaborate and share assets with other team members, so that users in the same service space can quickly and easily run tests using any of the pre-defined security profiles.
  • Mindreef Load Check - a powerful load testing tool that allows individuals or teams to test the performance and scalability of services before they leave development, identifying issues earlier in the lifecycle where they are easier to find and less costly to fix.
  • Mindreef Policy Rules Manager - a design-time governance tool that provides the ability for organizations to establish SOA design standards by easily combining codified industry policy sets with customized organizational best practices, and then enforce compliance at design and development time.
  • Automated Testing with Test Suites - an ordered list of Workspaces that allows teams to automate unit, functional, regression and acceptance tests stored in Test Suites. SOAPscope Server will report on tests that passed and failed, and identify how many passed or failed for the first time. Using Test Suites enables managers and teams to easily and quickly determine where to focus test and fix efforts.
  • Integration with HP Quality Center - for integrated testing of Web services and composite applications.  From within HP Quality Center, users can retrieve and review Mindreef test results and re-run tests for increased visibility into the performance and quality of Web services throughout the entire development lifecycle.
